Keystone RV Co. rolled the inaugural unit off the line at the company’s second facility dedicated to the production of the Montana fifth-wheel series.
According to a press release, the 40,000 square-foot plant at the Thor Industries Inc. subsidiary’s complex in Goshen, Ind., raises Keystone’s total manufacturing capacity for the Montana to 107,000 square feet.
The plant is part of an announced expansion last fall that included the opening of a 65,000 square-foot facility for production of the sport utility Raptor line, freeing up additional manufacturing capacity for the Montana.
Jeff Rank, who heads up the Montana division, said that consumer demand dictated an increase in capacity.
“We understand the importance of Montana to our dealers and we are taking major steps to accommodate the incredible retail demand,” he said. “The additional capacity will also allow for increased product innovations of the Montana brand as we strive to maintain our leadership position.”
Gary Hart and sons Nathan and Justin, owners of Walnut Ridge RV, New Castle, Ind., took delivery on the first Montana.
