Keystone RV Co.’s Passport ultralite division reached an industry milestone in record time, as the 35,000th trailer rolled off the Goshen, Ind., assembly line.
To mark the event, the Passport sales team handed over the unit to Nathan and Justin Hart of Walnut Ridge Family RV Sales of New Castle, Ind., in front of the entire Passport workforce.
First introduced as a 2007 model, Passport’s retail sales hit an all-time high in 2014. “We have stayed true to the core of the ultralite market and strived to keep weights low,” said Product Manager Ryan Shuff in a press release. “One-hundred percent of the Passport product line is truly half-ton towable, even by older tow vehicles. And we didn’t stop there — today an entire segment of the Passport product line is towable by the new crossover vehicles.”
Walnut Ridge President Nathan Hart noted, “As a family-owned dealership, it is important to have a partner like Keystone providing us with products that hit the sweet spot of the market. The Passport is dialed-in for today’s buyers. In addition, Keystone gives us the personal attention we believe important to help us better serve our customers. We know that if necessary, we can always call the Keystone factory and get our customers the assistance they need.”
Group General Manager Bren Lauck noted that Passport’s ultralite product mix creates increased opportunities. “With our exclusive focus on ultralites, Passport dealers can reach a broader market segment, attracting more first-time buyers and families with smaller vehicles,” he said. “We anticipate 2015 to be another banner year for the Passport team.”
