Kingsley Coach Inc., a manufacturer of RVs and specialty vehicles on class 7 or 8 semi-truck chassis, recently began production of standardized models in its new factory in Ramsey, Minn.
Previously, Middleburg, Pa.-based Kingsley only produced customized units.
The first standardized Kingsley unit will be built on a 2004 Kenworth T2000 chassis. It is scheduled for completion in mid-June.
“The standardized production line will allow Kingsley to establish a crew who will become very familiar with the product, therefore reducing man hours and improving efficiency,” according to Ralph Dickenson, CEO.
Standardized coaches will come in four basic floorplans and buyers will be able to choose their color scheme, Dickenson added.
With standardization, he said, Kingsley hopes to increase its production volume and profitability.
