Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) has partnered with Westrec Marinas to take over the operation of the 400-site RV resort at Westrec’s Tower Park Resort complex in the California Delta region near Stockton and Lodi, Calif.
According to a press release, the lease agreement, which took effect Aug. 1, makes the resort one of the largest campgrounds in the KOA system. The Billings, Mont., company currently has more than 465 campgrounds throughout the U.S., Canada and Japan.
“We’re very excited to add KOA’s expertise in operating top-rated campgrounds to the operation of the Tower Park Resort,” said Scott Cory, director of operations for Encino, Calif.-based Westrec Marinas, which currently operates 25 marinas throughout the U.S., Brazil and Jamaica. “Giving our guests a great KOA camping experience along with what our beautiful marina has to offer is the best of both worlds.”
The Tower Park project is one of several ventures currently under way between Westrec and KOA.
The facility, to be known as the Stockton Delta/Tower Park Resort KOA, is a completely self-contained resort community, located 30 miles south of Sacramento.
Along with 400 full hookup RV sites, the park has 400 boat slips, a group events pavilion, swimming pool, spa, boat sales and rentals, a restaurant, bar and banquet facilities, along with its own post office and drinking water processing plant.
“Anyone with a passion for camping and boating will absolutely fall in love with this resort park,” said Shane Ott, KOA senior vice president of company owned properties.
Ott said KOA will immediately add $500,000 in improvements to the campground, including the addition of Kamping Lodges, site enhancements and a variety of new recreational amenities.
