Kampgrounds of America, Inc. (KOA) recently entered into a Franchise Agreement with Love’s Travel Stops. The agreement culminates in a new-build KOA location, McComb KOA Journey, in McComb Miss.

Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores has more than 550 locations in 41 states. The Love’s Family of Companies provides motorists and truck drivers with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, travel items, snacks, restaurant offerings, and more. Additionally, Love’s Hospitality provides a growing network of hotels and storage rental locations. The McComb KOA Journey will be their first entrance into the campground market.

“As we began to consider adding camping to our portfolio of hospitality offerings, KOA just made sense,” said Kevin McCarthy, director of special projects for Love’s. “Both Love’s and KOA have a nearly 60-year track record of being at the forefront of their industries. We really think the combined expertise of these brands makes for a powerful partnership.”

Currently in the development stage, the McComb KOA Journey is expected to open by the end of the year.

“We are thrilled to have Love’s Travel Stops join the KOA Family of Campgrounds,” said Larry Brownfield, KOA senior director of franchise development. “We know that with the power of the KOA brand and Love’s history of proving quality amenities and services to motorists, this new campground will be a resounding success.”

KOA is the world’s largest system of open-to-the-public campgrounds with more than 520 locations across the U.S. and Canada. An industry leader in outdoor hospitality, KOA’s family of campground brands – KOA Journey, KOA Holiday and KOA Resort – offer sites and amenities designed for every type of camping experience. The company was founded 58 years ago in Billings, Mont., and today serves more than a million camping families each year, who rely on the standards of excellence and unique outdoor adventures KOA is known for.
