Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) has promoted Jef Sutherland, vice president of information systems, to the new position of vice president of franchise operations.
“In this role, Jef is the ‘air traffic controller’ of our programs, projects and services that support our franchisees,” said President and COO Shane Ott in a news release. “The camping business is changing, as is the entire economic and consumer landscape. KOA is unique in our ability to adapt and make improvements as the market demands.”
Ott said that Sutherland’s new position is part of an “overall strategy to increase the value of KOA to our franchisees and our campers.”
“Our franchisees are not facing the current economic challenges alone,” said Ott. “Our home office team exists to support their efforts, and Jef will help us react and implement our extensive resources quickly and effectively.”
Sutherland added, “We are actively improving our services to our franchisees. We’re putting specialized business consultants in the field who work with individual franchisees to achieve best business practices and optimal operational success.”
The 47-year-old company, based in Billings, Mont., has more than 460 franchisees across the U.S. and Canada.
