Kropf Industries Inc. surged to the top of the recreation park trailer rankings with a 15.6% market share for the first six months of the year, according to Statistical Surveys Inc. of Grand Rapids, Mich.

The Goshen, Ind.-based builder reported in a press release that Kropf increased sales in a market that was down 5.5% during the same six-month period.

Curt Yoder, co-owner of Kropf Industries, noted, “Our dealers really understand the park model buyer and spend a lot of time with them during the buying cycle to make sure the customer gets exactly what they want in their new park model home. Today’s discerning buyer has different requirements and we are able to provide responsive service and changes that quickly eliminate competitive units they may also be evaluating.

Yoder said that Kropf has received a lot of interest from dealers who are discovering the opportunities that park models can bring to the changing demographics of our industry. “With all the coverage of destination camping this year, our dealers have benefited from the educated consumer that wants the benefits of the lifestyle that can be enjoyed at a single location all season long,” he said, adding that Kropf will be hosting a dealer open house as part of the Elkhart County RV Open House Sept. 16-18.

Yoder attributed Kropf’s growth to a strong dealer network. Keith Kornovich, manager at Minneapolis Trailer Sales Inc. in Rogers, Minn., noted, “With Kropf and Curt Yoder we have a company and leader who are passionate about what they produce. The product stays fresh with contemporary interiors, new and improved floorplans annually and popular options. They are responsive to rare construction or quality issues. Consistent scheduling helps insure timely custom orders and inventory planning.”

Similar sentiments were voiced by Erik Samuelsen, co-owner of Lakeland RV Center in Milton, Wisc., and Wisconsin’s largest park model dealer, stated, “Kropf Industries provides us the most innovation, exciting floo plans, top quality craftsmanship along with truly exceptional people to work with. Seacoast RV in Saco, Maine, is Kropf’s top dealer in the country. “In an industry where most park models are shipped to the south, southwest and West Coast states, it is interesting that a family owned dealership in northeast continually consistently sits at the top of the leaderboard,” said Yoder.
