KVH Industries Inc., a supplier of mobile communication products and defense-related navigation and guidance systems, today (April 20) reported an increase in revenue and earnings for the company’s fiscal first quarter, ended March 31.
Revenue for the quarter rose 13% to $20.3 million from $17.9 million the previous year and net income was $1.3 million compared to $0.3 million.
Martin Kits van Heyningen, president and CEO for the Middletown, R.I., company, said the recent introduction of the TracVision R-series of antenna systems for recreational vehicles had been well received in the marketplace and should spur growth in that sector.
“I believe that we will see continuing benefits from our new RV satellite TV product family in the coming months, including the potential resumption of sales growth in the recreational vehicle market by the second half of the year,” he said.
The company announced Wednesday that Fleetwood Enterprises Inc., Riverside, Calif., selected the TracVision R series as its sole source for satellite TV systems in Fleetwood’s 2007 model year motorhomes.
KVH said that the company’s defense-related sales grew 57% to $6 million in the quarter while mobile communications revenue was up 2% to $14.3 million.
