Great Britain’s Heywood Williams Group PLC has called off its effort to sell RV industry supplier/distributor LaSalle Bristol and its affiliates Creation Windows and Bristolpipe.

The sales effort, first revealed last September, was terminated because of “depressed U.S. market conditions,” according to Chairman Hamish Bryce.

“In the interim, we will continue to drive all of these businesses (LaSalle Bristol, Creation Windows and Bristolpipe) forward, working hard to add value and prepare for a more normal trading environment,” Bryce added.

Heywood Williams put LaSalle Bristol, Creation Windows and Bristolpipe up for sale last year in an effort to enhance shareholder value, Bryce said.

But the 26.5% decline in the number of motorhome and towable RV units that were shipped from manufacturers to dealers during the first two months of this year, combined with nearly a 50% decline in manufactured home production led to the cancellation of the sale effort, said William Schmuhl, LaSalle Bristol’s CEO.

The products that LaSalle Bristol distributes to RV industry customers includes adhesives, air systems, bath accessories, doors, exterior products, faucets, fixtures, flooring, furniture, hardware, installation products, lighting, roofing products, rough plumbing, ventilation, wall products and windows.
