Bus converter Liberty Coach Inc., North Chicago, Ill., showed the most expensive coach it has ever produced during last month’s Great North American Rally in Louisville.
The 45-foot, double-slideout, Prevost H3-45 Liberty Elegant Lady, with a maroon “marbleized” exterior paint treatment retails for $1.7 million.
“Our business has been picking up,” Liberty Vice President Frank X. Konigseder said during the rally, June 16-19.
“Our high-end side – $1 million-plus – has been doing very well, and the $200,000-to-$500,000 range has been doing fine,” he said. “It’s that area between $500,000 and $800,000 that has been a little flat. But in the last two or three weeks we definitely have seen an improvement in that area.”
Liberty’s Elegant Lady features electronic gear galore, including a Crestron remote-control system that controls all the lighting, plus audio/video equipment and mechanical systems throughout the coach.
In addition to two 42-inch TVs – one in the bedroom and one in the living area – the upfitted H3-45 features a 30-inch LCD TV in an entertainment bay outside the coach, all of which is connected to an in-motion KVA Satellite System 4 featuring DirecTV programing.
The Great North American Rally was a production by Affinity Group, which also is the parent of TL Enterprises Inc., publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM
