Lazydays marked the grand opening of its Knoxville, Tenn., location on May 9 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony co-hosted by the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce. The dealership, formerly Tennessee RV Supercenter, was acquired by Lazydays Holdings Inc. in December 2018 and represents the sixth Lazydays RV dealership nationwide and the company’s first in the Smoky Mountain region.

Significantly, the location places Lazydays in the “heart of a real recreational type area,” Lazydays Vice President and National General Manager Ron Fleming told RVBUSINESS.com.

“It’s right on I-40 in Knoxville and 15 miles from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which sees more visitors in a year than the Grand Canyon,” he related. “There are also a host of campgrounds in the immediate area.”

Physically, the location sits on approximately 16 acres and includes an expansive showroom along with a full paint and body shop and 24 service bays. In line with the dealership’s expansion strategy, the facility provided Lazydays with a built-in marketplace along with an experienced and dedicated staff.

“The previous owner was Roger Sellers who was very active in community and industry,” Fleming noted. “He had built a very strong reputation in the area and there are a lot of long-term employees. Those are the things that we really look for in an acquisition. We’re not interested in a distressed or troubled business. We want a situation where we can walk in, merge some synergies and build onto a solid foundation.

“We’re not opposed to building a a greenfield opportunity,” he added. “A few months ago we announced our expansion in Nashville which is a ground-up situation. We felt that there was an opportunity with the Knoxville acquisition to spread out in Tennessee.”

Following the ribbon cutting and opening remarks at the grand opening, attendees were invited to tour the dealership and the RV models on display. The grand opening celebration also featured refreshments, giveaways and prizes.

“We’re honored to have received such a warm reception from the Knoxville community and RVers throughout the region,” said Fleming. “We are very excited to introduce the Lazydays brand and its exceptional customer experience and expertise to the Knoxville market.”
