Lazydays RV announced it has raised a grand total of $16,837 from its “Military Appreciation” fundraiser this past November. The dealership announced that both the Tampa, Fla., and Tucson, Ariz., locations of Lazydays participated in the month-long initiative aimed at honoring veterans, active and injured military personnel, and thank them for their service.
“We are absolutely thrilled at the support of our customers and employees during the November military fundraiser,” said Lazydays Chief Marketing Officer John Lebbad. “These funds, made possible by our great customers, will be going to important charities in Arizona and Florida that are truly making a difference in the lives of military families. It is with great joy and pride that we salute our military and veterans alongside the RV community by presenting these gifts.”
In Tampa, the funds are benefiting Operation Helping Hand (Op HH), a local non-profit organization founded in 2004 to provide assistance and support to wounded and injured active duty military (and their families) who are being treated at the James A. Haley VA Hospital. The Veterans Hospital accepts active duty military transfers from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Bethesda National Naval Medical Center and other military medical centers in Tampa. It specializes in treating injuries such as blindness, amputations, blast injuries, burns, brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.
In Tucson, the funds raised will benefit the Arizona Fisher House which provides a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. There are currently 64 Fisher Houses throughout the United States and Germany. Tucson has been selected as the Arizona location for a new Fisher House. The Fisher House Foundation is matching funds raised to build the House.
