The Mike Molino RV Learning Center board is launching a new initiative aimed at increasing the number of RV industry certified professionals – and retain those who already hold certification credentials.

To accomplish this, the board announced the formation of a Society for Certified RV Professionals and an industry recognition program highlighting the achievements of RV industry certified personnel. According to a press release, the initiative was recommended by a special Recertification Task Force.

“Industry certification validates our employees’ knowledge and expertise in serving RV customers,” said Rick Horsey of Parkview RV Center, who chaired the Recertification Task Force and has agreed to serve as the first chairman of the new society. “All industry stakeholders including dealers, manufacturers, suppliers, and other service providers benefit from having RV products serviced quickly and correctly by trained professionals.”

The program is aimed at individuals who hold or aspire to association certification credentials including:

  • RVDA-RVIA Technician Certification which includes certified, master and specialists.
  • RV Learning Center certification which includes service writer/advisor, service manager, parts manager, parts specialist, and warranty administrator.

“RVIA and RVDA continue to work together to train and certify RV technicians through the RV Technician Certification Preparation Program,” said RVIA President Richard Coon. “With RV demand increasing, well-functioning service and parts departments are important elements in the overall health of the RV industry.”

The Society of Certified RV Professionals purpose is to promote and recognize certified professionals and facilitate their professional development and training.    The Society will be launched during a special event on Nov. 10  at 4 p.m. during the RV Dealers International Convention/Expo at Ballys Las Vegas.   The event is sponsored by Protective Asset Protection.

The informational event will recognize certified RV professionals, include a special presentation on customer service, and be followed by a reception open to all registered convention attendees.

“The society will serve as a resource not only for professionals who hold or aspire to certification but for dealers and others who financially support certified professionals directly or indirectly,” Horsey said.  “We invite anyone interested in expanding the reach of industry certification programs to attend this event.”
