Luxury motorcoach builder announced record results for 2014, selling 109 Prevost conversions representing just over two coaches a week. According to a press release, the impressive number followed up a strong 2013 when the company sold all of its 2014 model year units.

The 2014 total shattered Liberty’s previous annual record of 98 units set in 2006, and continues a long string of robust sales years for the longtime builder.

The company said the results also reflect the firm’s growing leadership in preowned coach sales, which was bolstered by a breakthrough year from The Motorhome Exchange, Liberty’s wholly-owned subsidiary that specializes in pre-owned Prevost coaches and elite Class A motorhomes.

The Exchange, which shares its Stuart, Fla., location with Liberty Coach of Florida, accounted for over half of the total pre-owned sales, including 49 Prevost coaches built by third-party non-Liberty conversion companies. Equally important, the subsidiary was successful at attracting private coach sellers with its pricing and dealership services. As a result, Liberty said the Florida dealership has been able to maintain the nation’s top inventory of pre-owned Prevost coaches, in terms of both quantity and quality.

According to the company, the biggest reason for Liberty Coach’s ongoing success is the coach itself. “Since my parents started the company in 1968, our goal has always been the same,” said managing partner Frank Konigseder Jr., “which is to build the finest motorcoach in the world.”

Today’s “Elegant Lady” designs boast spacious living and storage space and advanced onboard systems and electronics, while also offering a lighter-weight design and superior handling. Each coach is finished and furnished under the direction of Kurt’s wife and longtime Liberty interior designer Kim Konigseder.

The coaches are also known for innovation, Konigseder said. “Industry firsts” introduced by Liberty in its 2015 model year include the state-of-the-art STRUT Launchport iPad charging system; the first-ever remote monitoring link for lithium-ion battery systems; and a newly configured lower bay entertainment center featuring a 65-inch UHD TV set.

Liberty Coach is expecting another great year in 2015. A pair of new 2015 Elegant Lady models remain available: the Verona Edition with a bedroom superslide, and the double-slide Fairfax Edition. A total of 16 pre-owned Prevost coaches, including 10 Liberty models, are listed for sale on the Liberty Coach and Motorhome Exchange websites. The debut of the 2016 model year designs is just weeks away.
