Around 200 employees and their families from Elkhart, Ind.-based Lippert Components Inc. (LCI) participated in this year’s JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, held in Mishawaka’s Beutter Park on Sept. 14.
According to a press release, LCI sponsored the event and employees raised more than $15,000 to fund research into a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
“I love seeing our teams and their families have so much fun while supporting such a valuable cause,” said Corporate Trainer Kelly Sorenson, who coordinated LCI’s team with her sister, Kate Sorenson, a purchasing agent at Lippert, along with senior VMWare/Storage Administrator Rich Kocielko. “I want to thank everyone who participated and helped us reach our fundraising goal.”
Kate Sorenson added, “I would like to give a shout out to plants 28 and 67 for their high turnout of 60-plus walkers. So glad our teams care so much about helping others.”
Lippert plants 227 and 228 management helped raise more than $3,000 by giving employees a chance to dunk them during their employee appreciation picnic Aug. 23. The company is also raffling off a 20-foot tandem axle utility trailer on Oct. 17 to raise more funds for JDRF.
