LKQ Corp., parent of distributors Keystone Automotive and NTP-STAG, announced it has hired Ian P. Musselman as senior vice president of government and regulatory affairs. According to a press release, Musselman will open LKQ’s Washington, D.C., office and help establish a federal government affairs presence, as well as oversee existing government affairs activities, for the company.
“I am very pleased to have Ian join the senior leadership team of LKQ. His years of government affairs experience working on complex issues and his ability to navigate Congress, coupled with his strong relationships throughout Washington, will be invaluable to LKQ as we strengthen our voice at all levels of government,” said LKQ President and Chief Executive Officer Dominick Zarcone.
Musselman joined Continental Automotive Group and Continental Tire of the Americas in September 2012 as director of government affairs for North America. In his role as Director, his responsibilities included establishing Continental’s first government affairs office in Washington, D.C., setting its government relations agenda, and implementing its government relations strategy before the United States Congress and the executive branch. Musselman formed the state government affairs office of Continental in 2014, working with individual states on growth incentive packages, product development regulation, and employment matters.
“I look forward to using both my experience in establishing a government affairs presence in Washington, D.C. and my knowledge of the overall automotive industry’s legislative and regulatory dynamics to promote LKQ’s story at both the federal and state levels of government,” said Ian Musselman.
