Thor’s Mandalay Luxury Division has introduced the more affordable Valencia diesel pusher motorhome for 2006 with three available floorplans and up to four slideouts. John Krider, product planning manager for the newly created division of Thor Industries Inc. located adjacent to Four Winds International Corp.’s facilities on the east side of Elkhart, Ind., said Valencia is designed to appeal to consumers considering the purchase of a high-end gas Class A. “Within the same price range, they can be in a diesel motorhome that will offer better fuel mileage and better longevity,” Krider said. Built on a 28,000-pound GVWR Freightliner XC chassis powered by a 300-hp Cummins ISB diesel engine mated to an Allison 2500 series transmission, Valencia is  available in 37- to 38 1/2-foot lengths with starting retail prices of $145,530. Other selling points: pass-through storage, 84-inch ceilings, once-piece windshields with steel-cage construction, molded front and rear end caps and a standard 7.5 kw diesl generator.
