Manteca Trailer and Camper has begun construction on an $8 million, 58,000-square-foot retail facility, according to the Manteca Bulletin.
The California dealership’s new complex, situated on 20 acres, will offer nearly six times the space of the current facility in Manteca. In addition to a large showroom, the building will also house service operations with the ability to handle up to 40 RVs.
“We’re hoping to be inside the new building in October,” said owner Terry Davis. He took over the business from his father who founded the dealership in 1970.
“Over time it’s just gotten bigger and bigger,” added Davis. “We started with three acres and eventually moved up to eight acres – we’re getting ready to move to a 20-acre location, so that’s a sizable difference.”
In addition to Manteca Trailer and Camper, Davis also oversees Sacramento RV, Brawley’s RV of Modesto, and Sundown RV of Merced – as well as Valley Harley-Davidson in Stockton.
The local paper reported that Davis’ combined operations employ nearly 170 workers.
