Manteca Trailer & Camper will be moving this weekend into a new 60,000 square-foot facility, situated on 15 acres next door to the California retailer’s current dealership.
According to the Manteca Bulletin, the new dealership will feature an expansive showroom complete with a pitched wooden ceiling accented with a large skylight.
Other amenities include a covered service write-up area, 30 service bays complete with dump station, an area for washing RVs and an expansive parts department including a large customer self-serve area.
The Bulletin reported that the late Bobby Joe Davis and the late Lou Blumberg bought the dealership together in 1970 and Davis eventually bought out his partner.
Davis became a late-night icon on TV stations in Northern California with his signature sign-off of “Maaan-tee-kaa!” while holding a cigar in one hand. The sign-off footage is still used in the dealer’s TV advertising.
Bob’s son, Terry, now runs the business along with the other family concerns – Brawley RV in Modesto, RVs of Sacramento, and the Stockton Harley Davidson dealership.
Davis said he plans to lease part of the existing Manteca Trailer & Camper site once the move is completed.
