Marathon Coach Inc., Coburg, Ore., reported record sales for 2004 and said it plans to hire 100 people as it increases production this year, according to a report in the Register-Guard.
The luxury bus conversions company said in a statement that sales rose 20% to $126 million compared with 2003 revenues. Marathon expects a continued increase in its market share in 2005 and plans to increase production by up to 20 percent.
“Bus conversions have been getting a great deal of national exposure over the last couple of years and this has brought a lot of new customers to the industry,” said Steve Schoellhorn, executive vice president of sales. “Even more exciting, Marathon has increased its market share in the bus conversion sector.”
Marathon employs about 375 people at its headquarters in Coburg.
Schoellhorn also said the company will pay employee bonuses totalling $400,000, which includes a previously announced bonus pool of $200,000.
