Bus converter Marathon Coach Inc., Coburg, Ore., has agreed to sell Royale Coach units at its retail outlets in Coburg and San Antonio, Fla., according to the Register-Guard newspaper of Eugene, Ore.

Royale Coach bus conversion units are assembled in Elkhart, Ind., by Monaco Coach Corp., which is headquartered in Coburg.

Marathon decided to retail Royale Coach units because “the market demand for our (ultra high-end) product is exceeding our production capacity,” according to Steve Schoelhorn, executive vice president of Marathon.

Royale Coach units retail for $880,000 to $1.1 million and the Monaco subsidiary plans to build 30 units this year, said Monaco spokesman Mike Duncan.

Meanwhile, Marathon plans to build 80 units and its sales revenue will total between $85 million and $90 million this year, Schoelhorn said.
