In a message sent to members today (April 24), the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) said the organization’s members helped thwart a problematic legislative proposal to lengthen the school year.
MARVAC sent out a warning to members about a proposed bill that would allow schools to start before Labor Day, and sent out a call for members to contact their legislators.
“As a follow up to our action alert, the Michigan House Education Committee has canceled next Thursday’s hearing regarding HB 4396, which would repeal Michigan law requiring state schools to open after Labor Day,” the organization wrote in its latest message. “Thank you to all our members who contacted their representative to express concern about this legislation.”
