NOVI, Mich. – With a keynote speaker who praised Michigan’s “simplicity of escape” for RVers and campers, Woodland Shores RV Resort, Veurink’s RV & Marine and the Keystone Montana were the big winners Monday at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Michigan Manufactured Housing, RV, and Campground Association (MMHRVCA), held at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, Mich. – site of the 37th Annual Fall Detroit RV & Camping Show, Sept. 30 to Oct. 4.
MMHRVCA is the umbrella association that includes the Michigan Association of RVs and Campgrounds (MARVAC) and the Michigan Manufactured Housing Association (MMHA).
The keynote was delivered by Michigan House of Representatives Democratic Floor Leader John Fitzgerald, who represents the 83rd House District, including the city of Wyoming and other Kent County communities.
In his presentation, Fitzgerald praised the benefits of RVing and camping in Michigan, and the efforts of the people in those industries to help tourists discover all that the Great Lakes State has to offer.
Noting that Michigan draws over 131 million tourists annually, Fitzgerald said every $1 spent on the Pure Michigan tourism campaign results in $10 of economic impact. But while Pure Michigan does a great job in illustrating the state’s destinations, it should also to promote RVing, camping and outdoor recreation.
“It need to tell the whole story,” said Fitzgerald, who also mentioned that Michigan’s manufactured housing industry helps provide solution for the state’s lack of affordable housing.
In addition to the standard association business — which included updates by Executive Director John Lindley of several legislative and regulatory issues affecting the state’s RV and campground industries — MARVAC Board Chairman Ryan Krenek of Krenek RV in Coloma, Mich., handed out three awards.
