MARVAC LogoThe Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) is touting the Memorial Day weekend as the unofficial start to summer and its website — www.marvac.org — as the starting point for a “memorable summer vacation.”
“Memorial Day is widely considered the start of summer season and what better way to celebrate than by planning a classic Michigan camping trip in an RV,” MARVAC stated in a press release.
According to a study prepared for the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) released this year, “RV vacations were more economical than the other vacations analyzed, regardless of trip duration, trip distance, or region of the country where the vacation takes place.” The study was prepared by PKF Consulting USA.
“Camping is an activity families of all ages can enjoy and appreciate together,” said Bill Sheffer, director of MARVAC. “It is also an affordable vacation for many Michiganders.”
MARVAC encouraged the public to take advantage of MARVAC member coupons, available at the MARVAC Facebook page, www.facebook.com/MichiganRVers.
“With more than 30 camping coupons with enticing offers such as first-night-free or buy-two-get-one-night-free, there is something for everyone looking to save on a vacation. There are also coupons for parts and service to ensure your RV is in good mechanical shape prior to a trip,” the release stated.
More coupons and Michigan RV trip planning advice are available in MARVAC’s RV & Campsite Michigan magazine. The magazine is available in an online format at www.marvac.org/rvc2015, or interested vacationers can request a free printed copy at www.marvac.org/request-rv-campsite.asp. The publication offers detailed descriptions of popular camping areas, things-to-see-and-do and additional information for an informed and fun camping trip.
MARVAC is a statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging growth in the recreation vehicle and private campground industries while contributing to the quality of Michigan tourism. For more information, visit www.marvac.org.
