While also announcing it is accepting nominations for its board of directors, the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) is seeking participants and sponsors for the 23rd Annual Tim DeWitt Harvest Golf Outing.
The golf outing is set for June 11 at Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth, Mich. The registration table opens at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start for golfing scheduled at 11 a.m. Cost is $175 per person and includes 18 holes of championship golf, lunch on the turn, driving range practice with unlimited range ball, dinner and an awards presentation.
The golf outing is sponsored by All Seasons Communications and benefits the Tim DeWitt Harvest Education Foundation, which is MARVAC’s nonprofit foundation that provides college scholarships. The event is named in honor of Tim DeWitt, MARVAC’s longtime executive director who retired in 2016.
Nominations for the board of directors’ election will be accepted in writing until 5 p.m. on May 15. The official election ballots then will be prepared and sent via email to master members by June 1, who will have 30 days to cast their vote. Votes will be tabulated in the beginning of July 2018. Three positions – one dealer, one campground and one at-large – are for three-year terms and up for election.
The board of directors is the official voting body that sets policy for the association according to the bylaws. Board members meet at least six times a year, most often at the association’s office outside Lansing. The board establishes policies and votes on new members, as well as directs and approves association budgets, shows, educational seminars, meetings, the annual conference, and legal and legislative courses of action.
