Keystone RV Co. President Matt Zimmerman has set a new record for the “Men In Kilts” fundraiser. According to a press release, Zimmerman, along with campaign managers Joe Kalil and Jim Mac, helped raise over $100,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana.
Zimmerman’s total bested last year’s “King of the Kilts” amount by almost $40,000, which was itself a record set by RV industry leader Gregg Fore of Dicor Corp.
“We teamed up with seven other participants this year and we were all winners. As a group we raised nearly $300,000 for the charity,” said Zimmerman.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana is located in Memorial Children’s Hospital of South Bend, Ind., and provides lodging and comfort for families with hospitalized children.
“I am especially thankful for my friends and associates in the RV industry who supported me through their incredible generosity,” said Zimmerman. “The ‘Men In Kilts’ fundraiser brings awareness to the Ronald McDonald House Charity of Michiana. I was simply a vehicle to bring awareness to the cause. It’s the donors who are the big winners.”
He added, “We are so fortunate to have this generous resource in our community. The record-setting amount the ‘Happy Camper generated is a testament to the big hearts and generosity of our community and the RV industry and I am proud to be a part of it.”
