The 17th MBA RV Rental School was deemed “a huge success” by organizers, drawing 96 students and 118 attendees in total. The school ran Feb. 7-9 at the Tuscany Suites and Casino in Las Vegas.
Bert Alanko, president of MBA Insurance who founded the program, reported in a press release that “the school was fantastic. We had more students than last year, which was a sell-out. We were able to accommodate more people because the hotel provided us with a larger room, and we are hoping to get the same room in 2018.
Alanko added, “All of our sponsors have said ‘count me in for next year’ and there were 10 attendees that told me they will return next year.”
The MBA Rental School covers the gamut including staffing, pricing concepts, fleeting, advertising/promotion and the daily operating procedures. Instructors and students discuss renting motorhomes and trailers and debate the unique advantages of the two operational models – dealer-owned versus managed fleet.
“The sophistication of the presentations by all the instructors has really reached a new high,” said Alanko. “The positive comments are truly gratifying. We even had one person, who is a very successful rental and sales dealer, who attended the school for the fifth time.”
