Meyer’s RV Super Stores, the multilocation Western New York dealership company that does business as Meyer’s Campers, opened its sixth location today (Nov. 13) in Churchville, N.Y., a community near Rochester.
The Churchville location is expected to bring in an additional $20 million in annual sales to Meyer’s, which is expected to reach $120 million in total revenue for 2003, said Mark Meyer, president.
In Churchville, Meyer’s bought a former auto dealership and 35 adjacent acres. The former car dealership building was remodeled into a 22,000-square-foot showroom and office building, Meyer said.
Eventually, the Churchville location will be similar to the new location the dealership plans to develop in Hamburg, N.Y., a suburb of Buffalo, Meyer said.
The new Hamburg location, which is closer to a New York State Thruway exit than Meyer’s current Hamburg location, is expected to open about a year from now. It will include 30 service bays, a 15,000-square-foot showroom and a 10,000-square-foot Camping World accessories store.
Meyer said he has not yet finalized an agreement with Camping World, but he said he is on the verge of doing so.
Camping World is a unit of Affinity Group Inc., as is TL Enterprise, publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM.
Once the new Hamburg location opens, Meyer said his current Hamburg RV dealership site, at 5788 Camp Road, might be converted into a boat dealership or sporting goods store.
In addition to Churchville and Hamburg, Meyer’s Campers currently has two locations in Syracuse, along with stores in Bath and Caledonia, N.Y., where the firm’s headquarters are located.
