Meyer’s RV Super Stores, the multilocation Western New York dealership company that does business as Meyer’s Campers, will expand its Hamburg, N.Y. operation at another site and add a Camping World accessories store at the new site, according to The Buffalo News.
Meyer’s currently operates out of five locations, including one at 5788 Camp Road in Hamburg. However, the company recently paid $1 million to buy a former auto dealership site also along Camp Road, but closer to the New York State Thruway (I-90), The News reports.
The new Meyer’s RV Super Store is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2004 and it will include 30 service bays, President Mark Meyer told the newspaper.
“The market has been really good. We have really outgrown that other Camp Road facility,” said Meyer, who told the Rochester Business Journal he believes the company will achieve $120 million in sales this year.
Meyer said the Camping World store will draw even more customers to the new Hamburg location site near the thruway.
The 5788 Camp Road site will remain operational although Meyer has not decided whether it will continue being used for selling RVs.
The Camping World store in Hamburg, a suburb of Buffalo, will be the only one in Western New York. The nearest other ones are Brunswick, Ohio, near Cleveland, and Amsterdam, N.Y., near Albany.
Another Meyer’s Super Store will open Thursday (Nov. 13) in Churchville, N.Y., which is near Rochester, according to the company.
The dealership also has two locations in Syracuse, along with stores in Bath and Caledonia, N.Y., where the firm’s headquarters are located.
