By unanimous action, the boards of directors of the Indiana Manufactured Housing-Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council (IMHA/RVIC) and the Michigan Manufactured Housing, RV and Campground Association (MMH/RVCA) have agreed to partner for their annual meetings in 2005 and 2006.
The Indiana association will host both the manufactured housing and RV groups in northern Indiana September 19-21, 2005 and Michigan will host the event in Southwest Michigan the following year.
“This is an opportunity for both associations to coordinate their efforts to produce an annual meeting that will benefit not just the individual state associations but the membership as a whole,” said IMHA/RVIC President Nathan Smith.
Jim Bertakis, chairman of MMH/RVCA, noted, “We look forward to working with Indiana because of the make-up of our organizations and our respective market areas. When we looked at what each organization was doing, it makes so much sense to put together something that meets both associations’ needs.”
Association representatives said conference facilities, tentative programming and other business opportunities would be announced shortly.
Dennis Harney, executive director of IMHA/RVIC, added, “This will give us an opportunity to produce a conference similar to what takes place on a national level, but with a local Midwest flavor. Having a larger membership base will help the associations negotiate with the facility and keep our housing needs and registration fees affordable; which, in turn, allows this event to be one that our membership cannot afford to miss.”
