MITO Corp., a distributor safety, entertainment and convenience electronics to the automotive, RV, marine, bus and transit Industry, has been upgraded and certified to be registered to the latest Quality Management System of ISO 9001:2015 within the scope of a wholesale distributor of standard and customized electronics and aftermarket products.
According to a press release, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 is the most current standard of certification and focuses on the company leadership team’s ability to show consideration to customer and stakeholder’s perspective when making risk-based decisions. ISO 9001:2015 places significantly higher requirements on companies’ Quality Management Systems than the previous version of the standard ISO 9001:2008 which is set to expire on September.
The process of certification was overseen by registrar British Standards Institute Group (BSI) through Carlos Pitanga, SVP, System Certification and Compliance. Over the course of the audit the newly forged leadership team at MITO showcased their ability to channel the company’s core dedication to excellence and demonstrated its ability to utilize risk-based thinking to consistently provide products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations as well as applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Gary Reese, operations manager at MITO, noted, “Our team is actively assisting and challenging partners in our supply base to also adapt to these new ISO 9001:2015 requirements. It’s our hope that they too can experience the same successes that we have had through exercising this process.”
