Monaco Coach Corp. will debut the Safari Simba STS Class A sport utility recreational vehicle (SURV) during its Dealer Congress 2007 June 26-28 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The 37-foot, rear-entrance Simba is built on Freightliner’s front-engine diesel (FRED) chassis powered by a Cummins ISB 300-hp engine. The front-engine design allows for 80 square feet of rear cargo area that is not available with conventional diesel pusher motorhomes. A large hydraulic aluminum rear-mounted liftgate can support cargo weighing up to 3,300 pounds. The rear cargo area of the Simba STS, which doubles as a separate living area, features a non-skid flooring that resists oil and gasoline stains, and diamond plate metal walls. It also comes equipped with twin bunk beds that raise and lower from the ceiling, an optional sofa bed and 20-inch LCD TV. The front living area offers a professionally designed decor with Corian countertops, optional central vacuum system, three-camera rear vision system and power sun visors. An 80-inch sleeper sofa expands sleeping capacity to eight people, while four bucket seats in the front of the coach arranged club-cab style allow for comfortable riding. The Simba STS toy hauler retails for $142,301.
