Monaco Coach Corp.’s Western Family Roundup, held Sept. 19-21 at the state fairgrounds in Salem, Ore., was the first to combine owners of all of the Coburg, Ore., company’s motorized brands – Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Beaver and Safari. The rally attracted 738 motorhomes from 30 states, according to Page Robertson, special assistant to the CEO. In addition to product displays of the company’s 2007 lineup, Monaco hosted seminars, drivers training classes, a golf tournament and fashion show. Among the other social events were dancing, a welcome party, nightly entertainment, cocktail parties and an ice cream social. Counting the Monaco staff, approximately 1,600 were fed during the evening meals, Robertson said. The rally also included factory tours of the Monaco facilities, inasmuch as the fairgrounds are about 60 miles from Monaco’s Coburg headquarters. “That’s a pretty full three days,” said Robertson, who oversees shows and rallies for Monaco. Kay Toolson, chairman and CEO, and John Nepute, president, welcomed the RVers at the start of the rally. Monaco sponsors two owner rallies each year, one on the East Coast and one on the West Coast, with the next East Coast rally being in late January in Orlando, Fla.
