Monaco Coach Corp., Coburg, Ore., is offering a floorplan featuring a full-wall slideout that is 24 feet long as a late-year addition to the mid-priced 2006 Safari Cheetah lineup. The two-foot-deep full-wall slideout is configured with a smaller second bedroom slide. The coach was first shown at the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) convention in Pomona, Calif. Built on Monaco’s 33,000-pound GVWR proprietary Roadmaster raised-rail RR8R chassis, the 40-foot Cheetah 40SFD floorplan is powered by a 350-hp Caterpillar C7 diesel power plant. The full-wall slide contains a separate bedroom wardrobe and closet, refrigerator, pantry, dinette and sofa. Spokesmen say the company will be adding other full-wall slideouts of varying sizes – depending on the floorplan – to Monaco, Holiday Rambler and Beaver floorplans. The Safari Cheetah 40SFD full-wall slideout model retails from $214,076.
