Monaco Coach Corp. is so concerned about the quality of the campground experience that it may enter the campground development business, according to Kay Toolson, chairman.

The company that is best-known as a builder of high-end Class A motorhomes and towable units, might enter into a partnership with a campground developer, Toolson said.

However, he left open the possibility of Monaco developing campgrounds itself.

Toolson did not provide a timetable for a decision on when Monaco might enter the campground development business, but he added, “It is something we are seriously considering.”

As a producer of many units that retail for more than $100,000, Toolson believes Monaco has to be particularly interested in campground quality “because it is part of providing our customers with the quality of experience we tell them they can get.”
