Monaco Coach Corp., will open a third service center in Leesburg, Fla., in late November to satisfy the needs of the large number of Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Royale Coach and McKenzie product owners who spend their winters in Florida, said Kay Toolson, chairman and CEO.
The existing Monaco service centers are in Coburg, Ore., and Elkhart, Ind.
The service center in Leesburg, as is the case with the facilities in Coburg and Elkhart, will do only warranty service work, so it will not compete against the service departments of Monaco dealerships in the region, Toolson said.
The facility in Leesburg, located about 30 miles northwest of Orlando, will be lightly staffed during the summer. Technicians from the Oregon and Indiana service centers will be transferred to Florida to take care of the influx of potential customers during the winter, Toolson said.
Monaco also is considering opening a fourth service center in the Southwest at a later date, Toolson added.
“With lemon laws being what they are, a manufacturer has to be responsive to customer problems,” Toolson said.
