Monaco Coach Corp., Coburg, Ore., and Kay Toolson, the company’s chairman and CEO, have contributed a total of $25,500 to the campaign of the Republican candidate for governor of Oregon, according to The Register-Guard newspaper of Eugene, Ore.
GOP gubernatorial candidate Kevin Mannix and his Democratic opponent, Ted Kulongoski, each have raised more than $2 million in contributions from the public as the campaign heads into its final week, according to The Register-Guard, which cited campaign finance disclosures made public last week.
However, a significant portion of Mannix’ funding is in the form of loans, which gives Kulongoski, a former Oregon Supreme Court justice, an edge when it comes to buying TV ads between now and the election next Tuesday (Nov. 5), the newspaper reported.
