October motorhome retail sales held steady with last year’s totals, decreasing less than 1 percent, according to independent market research firm Statistical Surveys Inc.
For October, 4,277 motorhomes were sold compared with 4,301 in 2003, representing an 0.6% decline.
Year to date, the motorhome retail market continued to outpace 2003, showing a 7% increase to 54,124 units sold through October compared to 50,179 last year.
Overall Class A retail sales were up 0.2% for the month with 3,116 units sold while cumulative sales through October rose 4.9% to 36,390 units sold compared with 34,681 in 2003.
Class C sales in October were off 2.6% with 1,161 units sold versus 1,192 last year. For the year, the Class C retail market showed a healthy 14.4% gain to 17,734 compared with 15,498 in 2003.
Statistical Surveys noted that the state of New Hampshire was not included in October numbers and the firm does not collect data from Hawaii.
