Myers Industries Inc., parent of RV industry suppliers Ameri-Kart and Best Plastics, reported lower sales and earnings for the fourth quarter and full year 2001.
The company’s fourth quarter earnings declined 48% to $2.3 million and its full year earnings were down 37% to $15.2 million.
Myers’ fourth quarter sales declined 13% to $148.5 million and its full year sales were down 7% to $607.9 million.
The company remained profitable by lowering its rate of spending on facilities and equipment, reducing its inventory and receivables and lowering its employment 7% to a little over 4,100 people by the end of last year, said Stephen E. Myers, president and CEO.
