Plastic products manufacturer Myers Industries Inc., parent of RV industry suppliers Ameri-Kart and Best Plastics, reports its third quarter earnings declined 46% to $1.7 million and its sales were down 8% to $141.4 million.

“The third quarter results were disappointing and demonstrate that while we are quite diversified, we are not immune to the recession experienced in most manufacturing enterprises since last 2000,” said Stephen Myers, president and CEO.

Myers Industries, which acquired Best Plastics a year-ago, also reported its earnings declined 34% during the nine months ended Sept. 30 to $12.9 million and its sales were down 5% during the period to $459.4 million.
