The Nasdaq composite and Dow Jones Industrial Average both rallied Friday, although they declined in after-hours trading because the Florida Supreme Court issued a ruling favorable to Vice President Al Gore late in the afternoon.

The after-hours trading activity suggests the stock market will open lower Monday.

But as of the official market close Friday, the Nasdaq was up 165 points, or 6%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 96 points, or 0.9%.
