The Nasdaq composite climbed 41 points, or 2%, on Monday as investors bet that the economy is starting to show strength, which would signal an upturn in information technology company profits.
Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which had a strong week last week, lost 75 points, or 0.7%, on Monday.
