The National RV division of National RV Holdings Inc. saw its shipments of gas engine Class A motorhomes more than double during the fourth quarter of last year, the company reported today (Feb. 17).
A total 436 National RV gas Class A’s were shipped to dealers during the October-through-December period, s 126% increase over the 193 delivered in the final three months of 2002.
Shipments of National RV and Country Coach division diesel engine Class A’s also increased a robust 35% during the three months that ended Dec. 31 to 283 units, compared with 209 units in the same period a year earlier.
However, shipments of National RV towables declined 14% in the fourth quarter to 295 units, compared with 343 a year earlier.
For all of 2003, National RV gas Class A shipments increased 46% to 1,382 units, compared with 945 in 2002.
Meanwhile, National RV and Country Coach diesel engine Class A deliveries also increased 6% in 2003 to 1,035 units, compared with 974 in 2002.
The company’s towable RV shipments declined 6% in 2003 to 1,515 units, compared with 1,609 in 2002.
The National RV division’s sales increased 45% during the October-through-December period to $56.2 million, compared with $38.8 million a year earlier. For all of 2003, sales increased 12% to $206.2 million, compared with $183.3 million in 2002.
Country Coach’s sales rose 81% during the fourth quarter to $42.6 million, compared with $23.5 million a year earlier.
For the entire year, sales increased 14% to $133.7 million, compared with $116.8 million in 2002.
