Tom Johnson Camping Center, a two-location RV dealership in North Carolina, no longer is an exclusive Fleetwood dealer.
In what he is calling a “strategic move,” Tom Johnson, president and CEO of the company that bears his name, has added a full line of Monaco diesel pusher Class A motorhomes at his Concord location, adjacent to Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the Charlotte metro area.
“We believe that with the dominant position Monaco has in the diesel pusher market today, that for us to survive and grow with the RV Industry, it’s essential that Tom Johnson Camping Centers represent Monaco Coach motorhomes,” Johnson said. “Monaco has greater market share in the diesel pusher market than anyone else, and their products are truly different from the competition. What representing Monaco gives us and the sophisticated diesel coach enthusiast is a total range of price points, from entry level up to — and just short of — going to a custom bus conversion.”
Selected Monaco diesel lines also are being offered for the first time at Johnson’s Marion store, about 30 miles east of Asheville, NC.
Neither gas-engine motorhomes nor towables manufactured by Monaco have been added to the lines carried by Johnson, who is widely viewed as the leading retailer of motorized RVs to NASCAR drivers, team owners, sponsors and NASCAR fans.
Johnson continues to offer the full line of Fleetwood motorized and towable RVs, including Fleetwood’s American Coach line, at his Concord and Marion locations.
