Developers of Iron Horse RV Resort, Elko, Nev. – scheduled to open with 103 sites on seven acres in August – are taking the concept of customer service a step further by offering full-menu room service from their adjoining Hilton Garden Inn.
“We want to provide something that most other RV parks don’t provide,” said Ruben Aveyta, general manager of Iron Horse LLC, which also plans to open a casino on the I-80 property in northeast Nevada. “We are going to take the hotel approach to the RV park.”
The park’s 6,000-square-foot clubhouse will feature a late-1800s railroad theme that will include registration, a limited restaurant and bar, slot machines, convenience store, showers, laundry and meeting room.
The Hilton Garden Inn’s Great American Grill, which opened in 2000, features an eclectic cuisine that will be served as part of the resort’s room service to the adjacent RV resort by employees in golf carts.
“The grill serves a little bit of everything. It’s a very popular restaurant locally,” said Aveyta, adding that a planned casino is expected to open in 2008.
