Beaver Coach Sales, a new dealership formed by former Destinations RV sales personnel, recently opened in Bend, Ore.
The opening of Beaver Coach Sales comes in the aftermath of the closure of the Destinations RV dealership group, which operated locations in Oregon and Washington.
Destinations RV, which closed on Dec. 6 after its owners ran out of cash, accounted for 13% of the year 2000 revenue of SMC Corp., manufacturer of the Beaver and Harney Coach brands of high-line Class A motorhomes.
Beaver Coach Sales started with an inventory of five new Beaver units, which can retail for up to $750,000, said Chris Jackson, secretary treasurer for the dealership.
The new dealership also will inventory Harney Coach units that will begin at $130,000 retail, Jackson added.
Beaver Coach Sales is located near the Beaver manufacturing plant, and the dealership has no plans to sell any other brands besides Beaver and Harney Coach, he said.
The new owners of the dealership anticipate generating $25 million in revenue from the sales of new and used motorhomes during the first year of operation.
SMC has designated Beaver Coach Sales as the Beaver and Harney Coach dealer for Oregon and Poulsbo RV, a five location dealership group in the Seattle area, recently was designated the Beaver and Harney Coach dealer for Washington, according to SMC.
The now-defunct Destinations RV also had a location in the Seattle-Tacoma metro area.
