Banking and financial services firm National City Corp. has named Derek Green as the new head of its Dealer Finance division, which provides loans to RV, boat, auto and motor sports dealers and their customers.
Green replaced Greg Jelinek who now is the head of Small Business Banking at National City.
Green will be responsible for establishing National City as a Top 10 auto lender in its seven state core market “footprint,” which includes Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Pennsylvania.
The Cleveland-based company also wants Green to continue the expansion of its RV, boat and motor sports dealer floorplan and retail lending businesses, which went national last summer.
National City wanted to be involved in RV, marine and motor sports dealer inventory and retail finance in 45 states by the beginning of this year. Initially, the company was looking for loan packages in excess of $10 million as it moved outside of its core market.
Under Green’s leadership, RV, marine and motor sports “dealer finance will continue to be a dynamic growth business for National City with tremendous potential,” according to Peter Raskind, executive vice president and head of National City’s Consumer and Small Business Financial Services.
