New Horizons RV Corp., Junction City, Kan., has hired Kevin M. McCormick as national sales manager to oversee the high-end fifth-wheel builder’s shift from factory-direct to retailing product through a dealer network.
“We believe that with the closing of several high-end towable manufacturers, this is the opportune time for us to work through dealers instead of selling factory direct,” said New Horizons President Phil Brokenicky, who acquired the company with other family members in 2002. “Several dealers have already expressed interest in our supplying them with product to fill the void created in their inventory. Hiring Kevin is instrumental in our selecting the right dealers to work with.”
Previously, McCormick was regional sales manager for Casper, Wyo.-based Teton Homes, which closed its doors in September. According to New Horizons, he has 14 years experience in the RV industry working with high-end towable dealers.
“At this challenging yet exciting time for our company, we are delighted to attract someone with Kevin’s abilities and respect to work for us in establishing our dealer network,” said Brokenicky, noting the goal was to establish a select group of dealers with geographically disbursed market territories. “His high regard in the industry and knowledge of quality dealers will be invaluable to us as we embark on this new phase for New Horizons.”
New Horizons RV Corp. has operated as a factory-direct seller since 1989. The company recently moved into a new, larger factory and headquarters facility, which Brokenicky said was also a factor in creating the dealer network.
