More than 12,000 RV parks with over 1 million spaces are included in the 2004 edition of the Trailer Life Campground, RV Parks & Services Directory and the companion Trailer Life Campground Finder CD-ROM that are now on bookstore shelves and online stores.
“The TL Directory is more than a handy resource for RVers, it is a necessary tool for the road,” said Joe Daquino, Multimedia Division vice president for Affinity Group Inc. (AGI) and publisher of the TL Directory publisher.
RV parks and campgrounds are rated in the directory, and its exclusive Triple Rating System helps RVers pick the campgrounds and services that best meet their needs, Daquino explained. Parks are rated on a 1-to-10 scale on three aspects: facilities; restroom construction and cleanliness; and visual appeal.
The 2004 edition features all Good Sam park discount locations along with 56 full color maps. Good Sam Club members get a 10% discount at all Good Sam parks. With nearly 1 million members, the club has a large impact on RV park and campground occupancy.
The new directory also provides information about whether a campground has a central computer location for customer use only, whether pets are allowed and if it’s an age-55-and-over or a seasonal facility. An expanded “Big Red” designation will be particularly helpful to the owners of larger RVs because it requires a space to be at least 60 feet by 24 feet to get the designation, Daquino said.
The Campground Finderon CD-ROM has features that make it a stand-alone resource or a companion to the directory, he added. The finder shows where to locate all Good Sam discount locations, offers interactive maps and search functions that make it easier to find campgrounds with desired amenities along with other important products and services such as hospitals, fuel, RV service centers and restaurants.
Good Sam and TL Enterprises Inc., which publishes RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM, also are units of AGI.
