A 625hp Caterpillar C15 diesel engine – the most powerful engine available in the motorhome market – coupled with a 10-speed ZF transmission typically found in heavy duty trucks are among the features of the 2006 Newell 2000i on display at the Family Motor Coach Association’s (FMCA) 73rd International Convention, March 21-24 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry, Ga. With four 13-foot-long opposing slideouts that result in more than 500 square feet of living space, the custom Newell 2000i was reintroduced recently with new body styling on the company’s own bridge-style, 59,500 GVWR chassis. Newell coaches are available in seven basic floorplans in 39- to 45-foot lengths with two to four slideout rooms. “No two coaches are ever alike,” said Sam Robinson, sales manager for the Miami, Okla., manufacturer. “We truly build custom motorcoaches.” The 45-foot, quad slideout Newell 2000i shown here, priced at $1.1 million, features two home entertainment centers with flat screen plasma TVs, walk-around island bed and rear bath.
